IAWTV Awards

This past week I was fortunate enough to attend the International Academy of Web Television Awards in Las Vegas, Nevada! I met up with Out With Dad and Vanessa’s Story series creator Jason Leaver in Toronto and we headed to sin city with no idea what to expect!

The festival was jammed packed. We had a hilarious and SUPER fun interview with fellow nominees Jeff Burns and guest co-host Jonathan Robbins for the show Super Geeked Up! Check out the interview here! http://bit.ly/SGUNMX1 Go to 41:15 to watch the video!

That night we all gathered at the Foxtail Club for the NMX Opening Night Party. Here we got to meet up with old friends from last years trip to Los Angeles and made plenty of new ones!

Our final day of the festival was the big night. Of course the only way to prepare for a glitzy award show is to go to an all you can buffet for breakfast.image

Once full to the brim we suited up in our nicest duds and hit the red carpet for interviews.

Fun Fact: They give you these signs so that the photographers can keep track of everyone!image

And then it was show time! The IAWTV members did an amazing job of transforming the Westgate Hotel.image

We were pleasantly surprised when we took home our first award of the night for Best Ensemble (Drama). Jonathan said it best, we wish our whole cast could’ve been there celebrating with us.

I was lucky enough to also get to present Best Writing: Non- Fiction with author Marx Pyle who wrote a book called Television on the Wild Wild Web.

The web series community of Toronto was representing well with friends taking home awards for their shows such as Cranium Cookie, Ruby Sky PI: The Maltese Puppy and Tonya Dodds host work in Super Geeked Up!

And then things got even more cool. I was beyond excited when I found out last Febuary that I had been nominated for Best Female Performance in a Drama. And then…
